As part of my ‘Cost of Living Crisis’ promotion, I’m reducing my fees by 10% to only £390 + VAT per session. I have very limited availability and if you’d like to know more about how I may be able to help you, please get in touch now.
Hello, I’m James Mallinson. I'm a clinical hypnotherapist with almost 20 years of professional hypnotherapy experience – and I’d like to help you stop smoking in as little as a single session of hypnotherapy.
I know that stopping smoking is really hard. When you’ve been a smoker for a while – possibly for many years now – quitting smoking, especially on your own, is very difficult.
But it doesn’t have to be. Thousands of people all over the UK have already quit smoking with help from a clinical hypnotherapist like me.
I’ve successfully treated hundreds of these former smokers myself, and I want to reassure you that if you want to stop smoking through hypnotherapy it can usually be achieved in a single session.
According to the Office for National Statistics, there are 6.4 million smokers in the UK today. A recent Government report says that 60% of them say they want to quit. According to the Royal Society for Public Health, quitting is by far the hardest new year’s resolution to keep.
I’m guessing you probably already know all this – especially if you’ve tried to quit before using patches, gum or pure willpower.
Smoking hypnotherapy is completely different. I’ve helped people give up for good – people who were able to stop worrying about their health and the thousands of pounds they were spending on cigarettes each year. It changed their life.
So maybe it’s time for you to try a fresh approach to quitting smoking, too. I’m one of the UK’s leading smoking hypnosis experts, and if you’re 100% ready to become an ex-smoker, I’ll help you get there.
I look forward to helping you be calmer and more relaxed.
James

Stopping is within most people’s grasp when they try clinical hypnosis for smoking. I trained for 2,000 hours to become a clinical hypnotherapist and have now conducted more than 5,500 sessions. Many of my clients came to see me to help them quit smoking – you can find some of their testimonials on my site.
I get it. You're probably asking yourself, "But does hypnosis for smoking really work?" Well, according to a 2021 study reported on Healthline, 87% of people no longer smoked six months after undergoing hypnosis.
As with any treatment, hypnotherapy doesn't work in every case, but it can be one of the quickest ways to give up. Plus, I will give you my 100% focus and attention so that they have the best possible chance of quitting smoking.
What's interesting is that many people think they want to stop smoking when, deep down, they don't. If this is the case, a hypnotherapist can’t help you. I only work with people who are 100% sure they are ready to change – something that can be quickly established during your free initial consultation.
1 Hypnotherapy works
Two decades ago, a session with a hypnotherapist helped fix my own life. Seeing so clearly how effective hypnotherapy could be inspired me to retrain as a clinical hypnotherapist. I've since helped hundreds of people just like you to stop smoking. Alongside this, there is now a large volume of research showing that hypnotherapy for smoking works.
2 My experience
I've completed more than 5,500 sessions of hypnotherapy, which makes me one of the UK’s most experienced and successful hypnotherapists. I will only work with highly motivated clients who are determined to stop, which means that if I agree to work with you, the chances of success are incredibly high.
3 It's usually really fast
With Fix My Mind, stop smoking hypnosis is typically a single-session treatment that will last up to 90 minutes. Some therapists will try to book you in for multiple sessions, but this is simply not needed.
4 It's personalised
Your treatment is entirely tailored to you – because how you smoke is personal to you. Many therapists repeat the same generic treatment, failing to take into consideration whether you are an emotional smoker, a compulsive smoker, a habitual smoker, or something else. Your free initial consultation and a detailed questionnaire I ask you to fill in will help me customise your treatment.
5 It's life saving
You already know that smoking is incredibly bad for your health. But instead of feeling guilty about smoking or being nagged to stop, you can choose to stop right now and work with me to make that happen. You will then have the rest of your life to live smoke-free, with all the health benefits that brings.
If you want to give up cigarettes once and for all, I offer online stop smoking hypnotherapy sessions, or we can meet at my London hypnotherapy practice instead. I also have an office in Winchester if that’s more convenient.
And whether you prefer online hypnosis or face-to-face, the treatment is equally effective.
Before we begin, you've got to be 100% sure that you want to quit. The £337,000 question (see below) is: are you ready to become a non smoker?
I've no interest in taking your money if you're not yet ready to move on from smoking – that would be a waste of everyone's time. We need to be sure that you truly want to quit. During our free 20-minute consultation, we'll drill down into:
If we proceed to your first session, we'll start tackling your addiction straight away.
If you’d like me to help you quit smoking, I’m currently offering all new clients 10% off my standard fees to help with the cost of living crisis.
Cigarette smoking really can become a thing of the past for many people, and with the cost of cigarettes at a record high, there’s never been a more compelling time to quit.
If you like the idea of getting over your nicotine addiction and finally becoming a non-smoker, fill in my contact form, and we'll set up your free consultation lasting 20 minutes. During this informal chat, you can decide if stop smoking hypnotherapy is the right choice for you.
When you get in touch, I’ll also send you a free one-hour relaxation download that I used to sell for £17.99. It might just help the next time you’re feeling stressed out and reaching for the cigarette pack.
I look forward to helping you to quit smoking.

But that's not the half of it. If you invested the £124k you'd spend on a 20-a-day habit in an account earning 5% per year, it would grow to £337,000 over 20 years. That's £50k more than the average price of a UK house.
If these figures aren’t enough to make you think twice, maybe the long-term health problems associated with smoking will.
As well as the countless cancers it can cause (lung cancer being the most common), smoking can also lead to all sorts of other serious medical issues.
The problem is that even the above statistics are often not enough for people to quit smoking because their smoking habit has developed over many years. Much as you may want to quit cigarettes, you simply can’t imagine life without them. I’ve even worked with people who have had throat cancer and still smoked.
Hypnosis can help you completely change this mindset. I'll work with you to help you move on – turning smoking into a habit from the past.
I'm hoping you're now a little more reassured about the hypnotherapy process and feel ready to take the next step to become a non-smoker. Remember that you’ll need only a single session.
It will be up to 90-minutes long – that means we’ll achieve so much more than you can in the traditional 50-minute ‘therapy hour’ that most therapists provide.
As part of my ‘Cost of Living Crisis’ promotion, I’m reducing my fees by 10% to only £390 + VAT per session. I have very limited availability, and if you’d like to know more about how I may be able to help you, then do get in touch now.
I will put 100% effort into working with you, and the techniques I use are very powerful. As with all therapy types, success varies from client to client and there can be no guarantees. In fact, I’d recommend running a mile from a hypnotherapist who says they offer a guarantee.
If you’d like to start your journey towards quitting smoking, then just call freephone 0800 122 3073. Or please fill out the contact form to arrange an appointment. You’ll also get your free one-hour download to help you relax.
Here’s to you being an ex-smoker.
By dramatically dialling down your 'love' of smoking, hypnotherapy helps you to discover the benefits of becoming a non-smoker instead.
Additionally, using hypnotherapy to quit is:
Quitting smoking using many traditional methods such as nicotine patches, gum or going 'cold turkey' comes with a number of challenges.
These include:
1/ Your emotional triggers. Out of habit, when stressed or angry, reaching for a cigarette may provide a sense of calm. It's your 'safety blanket’.
2/ Ingrained behaviours. A smoke on the walk to work or first thing in the morning can be hard to let go of.
3/ Coping mechanisms. Many people believe that instant access to a cigarette when they need it helps them to cope better. It probably doesn't, but you believe it does – and that's something we need to work on.
4/ Your internal talk. Virtually everyone has a version of "just this one," "screw it," or similar. That will need to be changed
5/ The compulsion and urge to smoke. You need to be able to stop having this once and for all – which is difficult when you're trying to stop smoking with gum or a patch.
Many quitting methods fall flat because they cannot address the above concerns. They fail to stop all of those aspects that drive your habit and tell you what pleasure and comfort you get from smoking.
Take a second to think about those moments you reach for a cigarette. When you smoke, you probably don’t spend a lot of time thinking about it – you just do it.
Yes, you might be stressed, you might get a craving, you might be having a drink – or it could be a specific time of the day that makes you think, "Time for a smoke."
Quite simply, you respond to those cues and ‘just’ smoke. You do this both unconsciously and automatically. To put it another way, you enter a smoking ‘trance’.
Clinical Hypnotherapy for smoking works by helping to eradicate this smoking trance. It channels your motivation to stop – and enables you to do so automatically.
We will deal with all of your cues and give you some post-session tools to manage them, just in case. Most people, however, don’t need them.
More conscious-minded approaches such as gums, patches and self-help books can’t change the way you feel about smoking. Hypnotherapy, however, aims to do exactly that.
The idea is to stop cigarettes from being something you want. And if you no longer want something, then you no longer feel the need to do it.
During a tailored, 90-minute smoking hypnosis session with me, we'll work on changing everything you ever felt about cigarettes. The aim is to make you be free from nicotine and for it to no longer appeal to you.
After booking your smoking hypnotherapy appointment, I will ask you to do some preparatory work before seeing you. This is very important because this information helps me tailor your session for you.
Additionally, at an unconscious level, it’s a commitment to yourself that you really do want to stop smoking.
This work consists of answering some questions about your smoking habit, along with any relevant history, thoughts and beliefs that you may have.
You’ll also keep a log for a few days that tracks when you smoke, who you’re with and how you feel when you smoke each cigarette.
Then, when we meet online or in person, we go through your answers and using clinical hypnotherapy and NLP, we can begin to help you ‘unlearn’ your habit.
Here’s how we tackle all aspects of your habit head-on. We’ll:
Without trying to sound glib, you’re ready when you’re ready! It’s a personal choice.
Essentially, it boils down to two interrelated factors. First, have you had enough and are hacked off with your habit? Second, have you had a health scare, or are really noticing the effects of your smoking habit?
This is where the initial consultation call comes in. I will ask you questions such as, ‘On a scale of 0-10, how motivated are you to stop smoking?’ If you’re not in the right place when you answer these questions, trying to use hypnotherapy to stop smoking is not going to work.
During your session, we may need to resolve any internal conflicts you may have, such as, "Part of me likes smoking/part of me hates it."
Your willingness to quit smoking often comes with a growing awareness of the negative impact of smoking. A lack of enjoyment about the habit can be a powerful motivator, too.
During our smoking hypnosis session, we can deal with any underlying beliefs you may have about either your ability to stop or the conviction that smoking relaxes you.
From there, you’ll experience very relaxing and powerful clinical hypnosis to help you make the change.
And it really is possible. Imagine a world without cigarette smoke. Without feeling like you were damaging your body in unimaginable ways.
And think of the potential savings! With smoking hypnosis, your lifelong habit could be just a few hours away from being broken.
Experience: I have now completed more than 5,000 hypnotherapy sessions with clients.
Approach: I am personable and focused, and I only want to work with people I wholeheartedly believe I can help.
Training: I have now completed more than 2,000 hours of training.
Results: I am highly results focused and want you to feel like you can move on from whatever is holding you back in the fewest possible sessions.
This depends on your background. As well as clinical hypnotherapy, the four main tools at my disposal are Havening, Time Line Therapy, NLP and TFT.
I have enjoyed considerable success with all of these, both individually and in various combinations.
There are almost too many to list. As well as the positive effect on your wallet (literally thousands of pounds a year for even a moderate smoker), your body will thank you almost straight away.
According to the American Cancer Society, the timeline of health benefits is as follows:
After 48 hours – all carbon monoxides caused by cigarettes leave your body. Your sense of taste and smell starts to improve.
After 2-12 weeks – your circulation starts to improve.
After 1-9 months – coughs and breathing problems associated with smoking start to improve.
After 1-2 years – your risk of a heart attack has been greatly reduced compared to a smoker.
After 5-10 years – your risk of mouth, throat and larynx cancer is cut in half.
By continuing to steer clear of cigarettes, you also slash your risk of lung cancer, type 2 diabetes, bone disease and dementia.
Given the current cost of living crisis, I am offering 10% off my standard fee. A potentially life-changing 1-1 session with me today costs just £390 +VAT per 90-minute session (most hypnotherapists' sessions are only 50 minutes long).
There is no extra fee for my pre-prep work, such as my analysis of your pre-session briefing questionnaire.
Additionally, every new client benefits from a free 20-minute consultation by phone.
Booking is easy – please just fill in the contact form, or call me on freephone 0800 122 3073.
